What is a visual effects producer?

Today’s guest lecture was Joe Lloyd from double negative, He started the lecture by explain the history from back in 1998 when they only had 30 people and one building London all the way to 2017 where they have offices in three major countries. He then moved on to the main topic of the lecture which was What is a visual effects producer? In short They are required to manage all aspects of a production from start to finish, it falls on them to do most of the planning, scheduling of facility resources, managing the visual effects team and monitoring their work through the post-production process.
