Tonight’s film was more up to date than the last weeks, the story, acting and script wasn’t great but you can’t fault the film with the visual effects, the water texture for a film realised in 2012 are amazing it’s really a testament to ILM.
The reason why I think the visual effects are the strongest attribute is due to the visual effects superior Pablo Helman was very hands on through the project and he was there from the early days, the director split the visual effects work between the two teams, Pablo Helman side was water and naval battles.
The design of the space ship was something that I was very well throughout and the detailed was great, during the first encounter it would move its flaps down in a menacing way, the changing in lights from green to red was obvious but a nice touch, these little things are what really sell the film for me.
