We started the lesson with David split us into two group people experienced with Maya and people weren’t, I’ve never used Maya so I was glad that David did this because it meant that we were given more time to get used to the program and it meant that at any point if we got stuck or lost we could ask without holding up everyone.

At first it was a bit weird just learning the keyboard commands and how the (right) toolbar worked and X, Y, Z next we had to create polygon primitive. Afterwards we were given time to play around with the shapes to try and create something, I deleted the polygon and created a rectangle stretched it out and thinned it added another rectangle shortened it and thinned it out a bit, I was trying to make a sword and the only struggle I had was lining the handle grade with the blade.

Next as are right of passage we created a square that covered the grid and a sphere, we had to change the colour to chrome and download a HDR or EXR images from Sible archive to get these free HDR images.
