This blog post cover my work over the 18th of February to 24th

I started off by hiding all the PNG files so that I could take a moment and really think about how I wanted this image to look. Frist thing I added was long/short grass I want this to cover the entirety of the floor then moss at the base and stem of the building with ivy hanging from the window frames and of course broken windows and cracked/ dirty walls. I’m about half way through with the grass, I took a short break and focus on the base of the building, using the stamp-tool I elongated any cracks and copied any dirt and placed it all over the base.

I’ve spend most of today just focused on one building, finished the ground and a wall, for the building I added moss and rain marks (just black spots) around the building still need to do the glass, with the wall I added some bushes and weeds coming out from the cracks. The grass took the rest of the day as I realized that I’d forgotten to colour picker so I had to go back and re do them. Overall I’m still not convinced with the image, I think there too much space so your eyes can easily see what’s been added.

I’ve shown my work to my classmates overall positive feedback but one of the things that came up was the grass, they said that some of the strands were more obviously brought in others the colour was off, others were placed in the wrong place were grass wont/couldn’t grow, I did try to place the grass on the lines in the pavement that way it looked. I’m going have to go back and replace some of the grass maybe delete the more clustered areas. Idly I would have wanted to have finished the grass by the end of the week so that I could cut of the background building and bring my images into nuke.
