Today we did a quick run through on how to use colour in nuke we used Histogram, grade. With grade I tried to find the drakes parts of the image by burning the image using to top node I was then able to set my black even darker, same thing goes for my white this was useful to match two images together but you don't always have to do.

Lifts allowed use to either bring up the black or reduce them unlike the screen controls that don't effect the image lift dose effect the image, gain dose the same but for whites, multiples dose both (Mind blown!) these 3 tools can be used if your image is too grey.

Colour correct is a massive tab that is at first can look confusing buts it is not. The way it has been layout is with different section, the first one being Master Range this effect the whole image, Shadows anything that fall into the range of what nuke thinks is a shadow but you can go into he range menu and dictate your own shadow that nuke will later incorporate.

Colour lookup can get overlooked because of it name, it similar to curves in Photoshop, just from playing around with it its really simple and easy to get the hang of.

The last one is Huge correct – Works best with CGI images, Huge is used because it focuses on spefic colour so you can change blue without effect the reds or green.
