I’ve only seen the infamous shower scene in Psycho so The Birds was the first proper Alfred Hitchcock film I’ve watched all I knew about him was that he was regarded as an amazing director of his time and that he was a massive dick to his female leads, as the scene in the attic he used real bird without telling the actress to get the most realist reaction.

This film club was different as were put into teams of 3 and had to remake Alfred Hitchcock The Birds for a 2018 audiences and pay homage to him. We came up with the idea that the pacing should be faster, editing need to be quicker during the bird scenes and that they shouldn't show so much of the birds (like what Steven Spielberg did in Jaws) the film also needs a soundtrack, we would keep in the low angle tracking shot that shows all the characters in the house.
The effects were outdated to the point where it was painfully obvious that they used stock-footage and puppets, one of the main faults the film is the fact they leave the birds on screen for too long that you can clearly see that all the birds are just copy of each other also there moments when they attack someone there moment is really robot.
At the time, I can see why this was given the attention and recognition it did as there use of green and blue screen was a new concept and they used a good mix of puppets and stock footage, I also found out that it was originally shot in black and white which I think would have been more effect and added to the film setting as the colours looked odd. Overall there were 2 scenes that I thought were good the low-angle pan of the characters standing in the house listening for the birds and the playground scene as these scenes built tension.
