Has visual effect& CGI ruined movies?

I dont think VFX& CGI are ruining the reason why is simple we see and notice bad CG, if you picture a movie that has any air, road, sea scene that's CG because computer are really good at rendering solid objects any scene were the charters are in a big city or in the country side has some CG weather its CG trees, building lamp post, snow or rain but this is CG done right in my option as when done well and paired with real footage it barley noticeable, the fundamental of visual effects is that they serve story and charter and when a director dose this the effects are invisible. three of my favourite examples are Mad Max Fury Road, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network, let's start with Mad max those rocky mountain and deserts plane were all CG rendered.

Benjamin Button old faces was all CG and voiced by Brad Pitt most people think it was done with make up the thing with Benjamin Button was his skin and eyes at that time skin was really hard to get done right and they did pull it off in my option but the eye they gave it away and that's not the CG teams fault that just because as humans we recognise these imperfections on other humans, finally The Social Network the scene were there outside and we see condensation from Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield that condensation was 100% CG. Another great example is iron man in the first one they shot Robert downy Jr in a real suit that they used a reference but for the rest of his movies they just used a computer, all he wears is a mo-cap suit.

Too much CG and the scene and charters feel weightless in one of the Warcraft film you have two full CG charters fighting in a full CG environment and at first it quite cool to see but after a bit the scene feels empty and emotionless.
Time
You look at movies like Mad max fury road (granted most film don't need 15 year to make) but George miler understand the processes and they were delayed by 18 months and instead of sending people home he got the stunt team to practice everything and same went for the film crew. In this time George miler and special effects supervisor had time to plan out the effects from sand dunes to rock and tornado how would all of this look and come together, in contrast look at 2016 Suicide squad directed by David ayer. The film took 2 years to make and only took 6 week to write the script this resulted in a very jumpy movie in terms of tone.
Money
Now onto money the Fellowship of the ring only had a budget of $93 million .I think that if you give a film too much money the directors get lazy and leave everything to visual effects such is the case with Jupiter ascending that had a budget of 176 million and made 184 million.

My conclusion
well the simple answer is no visual effects isn't ruining movies, I think that a lot of amazing visual effects goes unseen and that's smart film making when a director know how to blend real footage with visual effects, Like Iv'e said computer are great at rendering solid objects, water, texture and skin (I know used Benjamin button as an example but the skin texture for it time was great) but far away humans thats easy most film now don't bother to hire extras for long shot as we can just drop them in a scene and they work fine. What I'm trying to say with out rambling too much is that VFX doesn't work on it own the scene feel life less and boring which they are but when blended with practical effect then we don't notice it, anyway that's my views on this subject.
